When Lindsay Met Travis

2010 was a great year. Lindsay had just started her sophomore year of college and Travis...had just grown out his beloved mustache. 

The two met and fell in love very quickly after being set up by some mutual friends. Less than a year later, on August 6th 2011, Travis and Lindsay were married.

Together, they graduated with their respective undergraduate degrees and began a special, new adventure--parenthood!

When Two Became Three

On March 24th 2014, Beckham was born--officially making them the three amigos. The young family set out to live the life of their dreams, which entailed long days and even longer nights. But they always found a way to keep the sense of adventure alive! Whether they were day hiking, staying in cheap motels in order to afford a semblance of a vacation or taking temporary gigs to make ends meet, they were willing to do whatever it took to live an exciting, adventurous life. Their son, Beckham was their partner in crime, going almost everywhere they went. From the time he was an infant, he was strapped to their backs hiking through Yellowstone, SE Idaho and the old growth forests of Washington state. Together was always where they longed to be!

Present Day

After settling down in a historic home under the shadow of Mt. Rainier, the Helm's have continued to travel and adventure together. Lindsay's biggest adventure yet was writing her bestselling memoir VIXEN: From Mormon Convert To LDS Apostate. She dreams of a living a creative life full-time as a travel writer and published author. Travis finished his master's degree in Geosciences, and now works as an Environmental Scientist. Beckham is a lively, happy little boy who craves adventure just like his two crazy parents. Together they are building a life that we are excited about! 

In It's a Helm of a Life, you will find Lindsay's writings about the Helm family travels and adventures. Some of the blog archives go back to the beginning, when Travis and Lindsay first began their lives together.
